Charleston County Councilwoman Anna B. Johnson of District 8 will hold her monthly round table discussion on Wed.,
Sept. 24, for citizens to learn more about Charleston County Government programs and services. The meetings normally
are held at 12:30 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of every month at the John’s Island Regional Library located at 3531
Maybank Highway on Johns Island.
The Sept. 24 meeting will highlight the Board of Elections & Voter Registration with Executive Director Joe Debney as the
guest speaker. At the meeting, citizens will have the opportunity to register for a photo ID, which is required in order to
vote. Mr. Debney and his staff will be on site to register citizens and take their photographs. The ID’s will then be mailed to
the citizens at a later date.
Registered voters will need to bring a form of identification in order to sign up for an ID. Non-registered voters will need
more documentation in order to register to vote. Those citizens will need to have the following: either a current and valid
photo ID or a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck or other government document showing their name
and address in the county.
If you plan to attend and have questions about registering to vote or for an ID, please contact: (843) 744-VOTE (8683).
